Executive Team

Nebo Djurdjevic, Chief Executive Officer

Nebo has 18 years of experience in senior business and technology management roles in electronic payments having developed and marketed advanced electronic payment solutions based on chip card and mobile technology. Nebo has experience with international payments technologies companies and with founding and building start-ups. He was previously a member of the executive management team at Intellect Group where he was instrumental in providing payment solutions to financial institutions around the world.

Milos Dunjic, Chief Technology Officer

Milos has over 20 years of experience in development of high performance and high availability transactional systems in financial markets, aerospace and telecommunication industries. Milos has held several senior level consulting positions with the Bank Of Montreal and IBM Global Services where he led teams developing front and back office derivatives, equity trading and order management systems. Before joining Cardis, Milos spent 7 years as the Director of Software Development at Toronto Stock Exchange.

Steven Brown, Vice President, Finance

A certified public accountant, Steve has over 15 years of senior management experience in publically traded companies. He served as board member and Chief Financial Officer of IDT Corporation where he guided the development of a growth stage telecommunications company through to its maturity as a public company, later founding and chairing IDT Entertainment, a media spin-off. During his tenure he also served on the board of publicly listed Net2Phone. More recently Steven was managing partner at the Mcguffin Group, a financial consulting firm advising early stage companies.

Juanita Gonsalves, Director, Product Management

With more than 20 years of experience in emerging payments and electronic transaction processing Juanita has held senior positions with Scotiabank and merchant acquirer Chase Paymentech where her responsibilities included product development and strategic planning. An active participant in Canadian payment industry advisory groups, her accomplishments include a number of deployments of new payment technologies and developing POS communication network strategies.


Advisory Board

Mordechai Teicher, Founder

Mordechai Teicher is the founder of Cardis and the inventor of the Cardis Solution. Mordechai is a full-time independent research and development specialist and is active in training and coaching inventors in the hi-tech sector. Mordechai holds a degree in physics from the Haifa Technion and has forty US patents issued to his name. Presently, Mordechai is working with Cardis on the next generation of patented innovations, to strengthen Cardis’ leadership in low value payments as the payments landscape evolves over the coming decade.

Erik Van Winkel, Executive Advisor, Business Development

A global payments industry expert, Erik has 12 years of senior management experience with 8 years at MasterCard Worldwide as business leader in the Global Debit division. Erik was at the forefront of developing and implementing MasterCard’s Single Euro Payments Area (SEPA) strategy in Europe with international retail banks. More recently, he was a director of global payments consultancy Edgar, Dunn & Company where he worked on a wide variety of payment strategy and M&A initiatives.

Ed Lomax

Ed has extensive experience in electronic payments at Scotiabank, in both business and IT development roles. From 1990 to 2003 he was director of product and marketing for the merchant payments systems. This included the successful implementation of the Visa Cash trial as well as a smart card based loyalty program. Under Ed’s direction Scotiabank was the first Canadian acquirer to implement EMV. Ed has represented Scotiabank on the board of directors of a number of national and international organizations including Mondex Canada and Global Platform.
